Something very different this week.

In the last few days, I found myself thinking a lot about solitude. 

As I did so, a poem started forming in my mind. 

So, I thought, why not share it with you and give you a break from my ranting?

I hope you benefit from it as much as I did from working on it.

I really believe our life's work isn't really done until we are content being alone with the One.

So here goes...

The preciousness of solitude 

Have you felt the preciousness of solitude?

A way to find some peace and some quietude

So rare and priceless is any interlude

Away from the madness of the multitude

To reflect on the extent of your servitude

Before the Lord of such grandeur and such magnitude

To realise the extent of your finitude 

Before the One who has no longitude or latitude

Too much talking has messed up our attitude

Too much scrolling has left our brains barbecued

Too much amusement has reduced our aptitude

Show us again God how to show You gratitude 

In the silence you might regain your certitude

In the stillness you might find your fortitude

You might reach an unexpected altitude

You might return to the world with more rectitude 

Have you felt the preciousness of solitude?
